Kim Saylors-Laster is a Partner with the Barnabas Team. She was most recently Executive Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer for Black Bear Energy, a renewable energy development company that works to accelerate the adoption of clean energy by institutional property owners. Prior to joining Black Bear Energy, Saylors-Laster enjoyed more than 20 years of business and executive experience in Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (now Walmart Inc.). During her accomplished corporate tenure with Wal-Mart, she held officer roles heading the company’s global compliance and energy organizations, as well as leadership roles in real estate development, construction, property disposition, and asset management. As the Vice President of Energy for Wal-Mart, she directed the teams responsible for the procurement of natural gas and electricity for all Wal-Mart facilities in the United States and electricity for all ASDA Stores, Ltd., facilities in the United Kingdom, achieving millions of dollars in savings annually. To further the company’s strategic focus on leveraging expenses through sustainability, she helped develop the company’s U.S. renewable and clean energy procurement strategy and led the team responsible for implementation.
In addition to her corporate experience, Saylor-Laster served on the Board of Directors for Texas Retail Energy, LLC (a U.S. subsidiary company of Wal-Mart) from 2006 to 2015 and Power-4-All, Ltd. (a UK subsidiary company of Asda) from 2008 to 2015. She currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Live in Light Ministries and has previously served with Solar Sister and Empower-A-Child, international non-profit organizations working to empower women and children in developing countries through entrepreneurship, education, and targeted development programs. She is a Licensed Attorney, a Board Certified Executive and Leadership Coach, and a Licensed Professional Counselor.
