Vice President, Business Operations, Tesla Motors
Fiona Taylor is the Vice President of Business Operations at Tesla and is responsible for leading change and improving business operations as well as managing the end-to-end customer experience. Before joining Tesla, she was the Vice President of Treasury and Asset Management at SolarCity, a full-service solar energy company, where she led a team of more than 150 employees responsible for all treasury and cash operations as well as the management of more than $13 billion in portfolio assets on behalf of SolarCity’s investment funds.
Taylor is a frequent speaker at a variety of consortia, providing leadership and insight on distributed generation asset management issues as well as issues effecting women in the clean energy sector. Her current focus is on collaborating with other business leaders to find ways to elevate women into the C-suite as well as mentor women early in their careers.
Prior to SolarCity, Taylor was a Senior Business Leader at Visa during its initial public offerings and a Senior Director at Fitch Ratings in Europe, where she led investment services and credit ratings in corporate, sovereign, and asset-backed securities. A native of Australia, Taylor started her career in the Royal Australian Air Force, serving as a Commissioned Officer for 10 years. She holds a BA in Economics and Political Strategy from the University of New South Wales, a Bachelor of Business in Accounting from the Victoria University, and a Master’s degree in Financial Law from the University of Southern Queensland.
