Alina Zagaytova is an Associate General Counsel and Senior Director of Corporate Development at First Solar. She leads First Solar’s strategic partnerships and investments, mergers and acquisitions, project finance, and distributed generation. She has handled over $10 billion in financing and transactions for renewable energy projects, including most recently the sale and financing of a 200 MW solar project to be constructed in Georgia, which will be the largest solar power plant in the Southeastern United States. Zagaytova has also led First Solar’s energy access projects in Africa and South America and developed innovative financing solutions specific to those regions. Zagaytova serves on the board of directors of Clean Energy Collective, a community solar company with projects across the United States, and has served on the board of directors of Younicos AG, a pioneer in smart energy and grid solutions based on battery storage that has operations in the United States and Europe. Zagaytova has provided pro bono legal help to several clean energy start-ups, which have since become successful companies. She holds a BA from the University of California, Berkeley, and a JD from Harvard Law School.
